About activist360

Founded by singer-songwriter/musician Bill Madden, activist360 is a labor of love maintained by a dedicated group of environmental activists. We believe our climate is in crisis, and the time to act is now.

activist360 finds climate change to be one of the greatest challenges ever faced by humanity. Our mission is to amplify diverse and global voices to raise awareness of the climate crisis and to champion innovative and equitable solutions.

We highlight news, organizations, movements, and people making an effort to protect our planet. We empower individuals, communities, and organizations to engage in meaningful action toward a sustainable future. By fostering collaboration, education, and advocacy, we strive to inspire a world where environmental stewardship is a universal priority, and where every action contributes to a healthier, more resilient planet for future generations.

Climate Change

We prefer the term Climate Change to global warming. We feel the term better reflects the coexistence of human accountability with natural climate variability.

Global warming refers to a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to greenhouse effects such as increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.

On the other hand, Climate Change refers to a broad range of global phenomena that add heat-trapping gases to Earth’s atmosphere (such as fossil fuels, carbon dioxide, and other pollutants) as well as changes such as sea-level rise, ice mass loss in Greenland, Antarctica, and the Arctic, and extreme weather events.

Calls for Action

“Why should I be studying for a future that soon may be no more, when no one is doing anything to save that future? And what is the point of learning facts when the most important facts clearly mean nothing to our society?

Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old Swedish climate activist who initiated the School strike for the climate movement and spoke at the United Nations Climate Change conference to denounce world leaders for their inaction.

Consumers around the world, particularly youth, are realizing that a mass cultural and lifestyle change is necessary for humanity to survive climate change. Striking youth worldwide grabbed the media’s attention with their open letter stating: “We are going to change the fate of humanity, whether you like it or not.” Further, the “Responsibility to Prepare” framework of the UN Security Council (UNSC) calls on governments and institutions to implement policies for managing the risks wrought by a changing climate.

As awareness continues to grow, and the movement continues to build, activist360 is here to call attention and support these voices and support changing lifestyles.
